Matrioska 2014

 

Living dolls in their gracious condition of pregnancy,
a homage to female generosity and to the fertility of the earth

 

The installation consists of framed photographs 6/9/12
which inserted into one another giving rise to the famous Russian doll
although "optically" inverted compared to the original conception.

The women portrayed in the work are all waiting for daughters except one,
and from which will be born a son. The smallest, "the seed" as tradition.

Bambole viventi in gentile stato di grazia,

un omaggio alla generosità delle donne ed alla fertilità della terra.

L’installazione si compone di 6/9/12 fotografie con cornice

che inserite l’una nell’altra danno origine alla  famosa bambola russa

anche se “otticamente” invertita rispetto alla concezione originale.

Le donne ritratte nell’opera sono tutte in attesa di figlie femmine tranne una,

e da cui nascerà un figlio maschio. Il più piccolo, "the seed" come vuole la tradizione.
